Collection of documents and data online in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, PDF, and PNG formats obtained during R/V Ridley Thomas cruise 01 for the NOAA Subsurface Monitoring Unit (SMU) activities related to the Deepwater Horizon incident response, June 26-28, 2010, Mississippi Canyon 252 area, Gulf of Mexico. Collection includes status reports, data reports, SMU data management documents, requirements, and guidance, including sample station locations maps, sample log, sample inventory, navigation logs, and equipment list. Products may include geospatial data files, maps, charts and/or data plots or graphs. Datasets associated with this cruise will be processed and published as they become available. The Subsurface Monitoring Unit (SMU) was formed by US Federal Government Agencies NOAA and EPA working with BP as part of the coordinated response to the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill (MC252 incident) in the Gulf of Mexico in April 2010. The SMU coordinated DWH response data collection and sampling efforts across Academia, private and US Federal, State and International agencies and scientists. The goal of the data collection and sampling efforts was to support comprehensive characterization of the Gulf of Mexico sub-surface conditions as well as the fate and transport of dispersed petroleum as a result of the Deep Water Horizon oil spill.
